How to Choose Your Camera Equipment

The world of photography is wide and varied. Every photographer has his own photography style that he has developed over the years and accordingly buys and upgrades the equipment every so often.

In the past, I have worked for several years in a camera store selling cameras & camera equipment at all levels, from the simple pocket camera to the most professional camera equipment. I learned a lot about equipment and quality differences between equipment levels.

When you want to test new equipment or upgrade existing one, you need to take into consideration a few things:

  1. What is your need? What style of photography are you focusing on? Maybe you need a lens that is suitable for bird photography which is different from a lens for fashion photography for example..
  2. What is your budget? It is important to buy the right camera body and lens according to what you need. The faster, more professional the equipment, high quality of the lenses – the price will be accordingly.
  3. The larger the sensor in the camera with more megapixels in a high-quality lens, the higher the sharpness of the image.
  4. Ergonomics that suit your hands.

More than once I came across customers who wanted to purchase a camera that was too expensive for what they really needed. A cheaper product can also do the work even a used one if you are low in your budget.

Every few months a new camera model hits the market. Not always are there significant improvements from the old model . It is very tempting to go and buy the new shiny model but not always really needed. If you are satisfied with the results then what is the rush?
